Fleurs : involucre à folioles très inégales, dressées, les extérieures herbacées, lancéolées, laineuses, les intérieures scarieuses, linéaires, ciliées ; capitule grand, solitaire au sommet de la tige, rarement bi-trifurquée; fleurs jaunes ; ligules linéaires dépassant longuement l'involucre.
Floraison France : Juin-juillet.
Flowers: involucre with very uneven folioles, upright, the external herbaceous, lanceolate, woolly, the internal scarious, linear, ciliated; single large capitulum at the top of the stem, rarely bi-trifurcated; yellow flowers, linear ligules, much longer than the involucre.
